Connecting in Classrooms: Queer Inclusion for Educators

TRUSU Pride Club Vice President and Sexual Health Education Certificate graduate Payton Hiebert shares strategies and recommendations for educators to create more-inclusive teaching environments for students with diverse identities. They bring attention to the mental health crisis affecting trans students while emphasizing the importance of a “door-open” approach to inclusion in which at-risk students can engage with educational spaces on their own terms.
